Job summary

FreshCo in Mission, BC is seeking a Grocery Manager to coach and develop department staff, drive customer satisfaction, and manage budgets, labour costs, inventory, and merchandising in line with company standards.

You will lead by example, oversee direct reports, ensure safety and compliance, monitor pricing, promotions, and product freshness, and work to create a welcoming, high-performing store environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ months of retail store experience, grocery experience preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to read financial reports and develop budgets.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and developing department staff to foster engagement and loyalty.
• Drive customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising standards.
• Ensure policies, health & safety, and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Manage department budget, labour costs, forecasting, and cost control.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives and coordinate department operations.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment and drive continuous improvement.
