Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a Grocery Manager for an independently owned Sobeys banner store in Canada. You will coach, motivate and develop department staff to deliver exceptional customer service, while managing budgets, labor costs, inventory, merchandising and product presentation in line with company policies.

You will lead by example, build a coaching culture, supervise direct reports, and ensure health and safety, regulatory, and QA standards are followed to maintain a high performing store

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of retail store experience, grocery experience preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and understand financial reports and budgets.
• Strong communication and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop department staff to foster engagement and customer loyalty.
• Manage department budgets, labor costs, inventory, and merchandising per policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge; monitor promotions and seasonal trends.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate department operations and communicate changes to staff as needed.
