Job summary

Goodness-Me is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to lead daily operations in our Hamilton store. You will drive sales performance, manage labour and waste targets, and ensure excellent customer interactions.

Job description

Your day-to-day:

You will be responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the Grocery Department, with a focus on sales, labour, and waste targets. Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Building and maintaining relationships with new and returning customers
• Maintaining a high level of product and service knowledge
• Ensuring stock is appropriately rotated and satisfactory inventory levels are maintained
• Participating in merchandising and promotional activities.
• Ensuring adherence to company and industry regulations
• Interviewing and onboarding new team members
• Motivating and inspiring team members while ensuring that productivity levels remain high
• Executing performance management conversations with team members
• Assisting in rolling out new policies and ensuring team members are compliant

What you bring:

• 3-5 years of management experience
• Experience in maintaining operational excellence in retail stores (payroll, shrink and inventory management, etc)
• A solid understanding of sales forecasts for establishing key targets for the department
• A strong work ethic and a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Ability to work primarily daytime shifts, with evening/weekend availability

Pay:

$19-$21/hour
