Job summary

Safeway Canada in Edmonton is seeking a Store Associate to help implement division grocery merchandising, manage displays, place orders, and minimize out-of-stocks while delivering world-class customer service to shoppers.

You will lift up to 50 lbs, stock shelves, set up displays, write grocery orders, price changes, and assist in loading merchandise for the sales floor. The role requires night shifts and flexible hours in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of retail experience for high school graduates (or equivalent).
• If you have some post-secondary education, combine it with at least 3 years of retail experience; at least 6 months if college graduate.
• Grocery retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer service
• Write Grocery orders
• Load and unload merchandise for sales floor distribution
• Price changes as required
• Stock merchandise on shelves
• Set up displays
• Rotate and order for Frozen Food, Dairy and Bakery sections
• Schedule flow of merchandise and manage stock room items
• Assist with all other duties assigned by the Store Manager

• Frozen Food, Dairy and Bakery Section – load, unload, store, rotate and order
• Schedule flow of merchandise – arrange stock room, damaged merchandise, spoils, salvage.
• Retrieve carts
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Store Manager

Educational And Experience

• For high school graduates (or equivalent) with no post-secondary education, a minimum of 3 years retail experience*.
• For candidates with some post-secondary education, a combination of post-secondary education and retail experience* must be at least 3 years. A minimum of 6 months retail experience*.
• For college graduates, Bachelor’s degree plus at least 6 months of retail experience*.
• Grocery Retail experience is preferred
