Job summary

Goodness Me! Burlington Location is seeking a dedicated Grocery Department Manager. You will lead daily operations, drive sales, manage labour and waste, while coaching a team to deliver excellent customer service and inventory control.

You will build strong customer relationships, maintain product knowledge, and oversee merchandising. The role requires daytime shifts with some evenings/weekends, and offers extended health benefits and a supportive, inclusive work culture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of management experience.
• Experience in maintaining operational excellence in retail stores (payroll, shrink and inventory management).
• Solid understanding of sales forecasts for establishing targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the Grocery Department, focusing on sales, labour, and waste targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and provide high-level product knowledge.
• Ensure stock rotation and inventory levels are satisfactory.
• Participate in merchandising and promotional activities and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Interview and onboard new team members; motivate and coach staff; conduct performance conversations.
• Assist rollout of new policies and training to ensure team compliance.

You will be responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the Grocery Department, with a focus on sales, labour, and waste targets. Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Building and maintaining relationships with new and returning customers
• Maintaining a high level of product and service knowledge
• Ensuring stock is appropriately rotated and satisfactory inventory levels are maintained
• Participating in merchandising and promotional activities.
• Ensuring adherence to company and industry regulations
• Interviewing and onboarding new team members
• Motivating and inspiring team members while ensuring that productivity levels remain high
• Executing performance management conversations with team members
• Assisting in rolling out new policies and ensuring team members are compliant

What you bring:

• 3-5 years of management experience
• Experience in maintaining operational excellence in retail stores (payroll, shrink and inventory management, etc)
• A solid understanding of sales forecasts for establishing key targets for the department
• A strong work ethic and a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Ability to work primarily daytime shifts, with evening/weekend availability

Pay: $19-$22/hour
