Job summary

Italian Centre Shop South LTD is hiring a Full-Time Grocery Clerk at our South Side location (5028 104A St NW, Edmonton, AB). The role involves stocking, labeling, stock rotation, and assisting with ordering while providing excellent customer service. Shifts include mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and ensure they are well labeled.
• Rotate and face stock in a timely manner.
• Assist in ordering and receiving specialty products.
• Engage in suggestive selling.
• Keep the work area clean and safe according to company standards.
• Uphold company procedures, standards and policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ensuring shelves are well stocked and properly labelled
• Properly rotate and face stock in a timely manner
• Assist in ordering and receiving specialty products
• Suggestive selling
• Keeping work area clean and safe as per company standards
• Uphold company procedures, standards and policies
• Other duties as required

We are willing to train the right candidate but most successful candidates possess these:

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
• A minimum of one year experience in a customer focused role

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
• Work independently with little direct supervision
• Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
• Have a genuine concern for needs of customers

Working conditions

• Job requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Job also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
• Employees will be exposed to cold temperatures when accessing our frozen goods section andrefrigerated areas.
