Job summary

Italian Centre Shop South Ltd in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Part-Time Grocery Clerk at our South Side location (5028 104A St NW). You will stock shelves, label products, assist customers, and help with ordering and receiving merchandise.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer focused role.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and ensure items are properly labelled.
• Rotate and face stock in a timely manner.
• Assist in ordering and receiving merchandise.
• Engage in suggestive selling to customers.
• Keep work area clean and safe following company standards.
• Uphold company procedures, standards and policies; perform other duties as required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ensuring shelves are well stocked and properly labelled
• Properly rotate and face stock in a timely manner
• Assist in ordering and receiving specialty products
• Suggestive selling
• Keeping work area clean and safe as per company standards
• Uphold company procedures, standards and policies
• Other duties as required

We are willing to train the right candidate but most successful candidates possess these:

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
• A minimum of one year experience in a customer focused role

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
• Work independently with little direct supervision
• Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
• Have a genuine concern for needs of customers

Working conditions

• Job requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Job also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
• Employees will be exposed to cold temperatures when accessing our frozen goods section andrefrigerated areas.
