Job summary

Italian Centre Shop Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Part-Time Deli Clerk at Willow Park to deliver exceptional customer service, assemble party trays, and prepare meats, cheeses, and salads to company standards.

The role requires flexible availability including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. We offer a free lunch on most shifts, a yearly bonus, health benefits for full time staff, onsite parking and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a customer-focused role.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to deliver a positive experience and foster customer loyalty.
• Assemble party trays (deli, fruit, vegetables) per company standards and recipes.
• Prepare, portion, and wrap meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Wash and cut fruits and vegetables as needed for assembly.
• Use kitchen utensils to perform food tasks.
• Weigh and measure ingredients and portions.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen according to standards.
• Answer phones and take customer orders.
• Promote IC offers and services.
• Follow food safety protocols and SOPs.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday to Sunday Availability
• Shifts may vary between 7am- 9pm
• Must be able to work General Holidays & Weekends

What You'll Be Doing

• Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty.
• Assembling a variety of party trays (deli, fruit, and vegetable) according to company standards and recipes.
• Preparing, portioning, and wrapping meats, cheeses, and salads.
• Washing and cutting various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for assembling.
• Using kitchen utensils such as knives, peelers, and graters to perform various food tasks.
• Weighing and/or measuring ingredients and portions.
• Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen as needed in accordance to our cleaning standards.
• Using manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim food.
• Answering the telephone and taking customer orders.
• Providing strong customer service when serving customers.
• Promoting the products and services that IC... offers.
• Following the company’s food safety, kitchen cleaning, and sanitation standards.
• Representing IC... both in and out of the store.
• Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
• Other duties as required.

While we are willing to train the right candidate, most of our employees have the following:

• High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred
• A minimum of one-year experience in a customer focused role

Working Conditions
