Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a reliable Cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food in line with corporate standards and guidelines, ensuring quality service at all times. You will assemble mise en place, rotate stock, and maintain cleanliness according to health and safety policies.

The role requires proven cooking experience, a Food Safety Certification, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Food Safety Certification is required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school is required.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients and equipment.
• Ability to work accurately and quickly.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
