A leading engineering firm in Vancouver, B.C. is seeking a Graduate Process Engineer to support their design and engineering team. The successful candidate will collaborate on process design, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to significant mining projects. Sedgman Canada Ltd. is hiring! We are currently seeking a GraduateProcess Engineer for our Vancouver, B.C. office. The selected candidate will provide process engineering support to Sedgman design and engineering team, helping deliver high quality projects to clients. As part of the process team, daily involvement in calculations, drawings, reviews, reports, modelling and client support activities will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide process design support through the engineering phases PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design.
  • Perform studies into operational site improvements and modifications.
  • Develop, improve and promote the effective use of operations systems (i.e. JDE, SPRS, Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Develop process flow sheets and prepare process design criteria.
  • Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat & material balances and P&IDs.
  • Size process equipment and develop specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in mining processing technology and recommend implementation of new equipment or processes.
  • Additional duties as required – may be required to work on client sites.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines).
  • With 0 – 3 years of work experience; process design experience preferred.
  • Must be eligible to register with the EGBC or will have their P.Eng EGBC designation.
  • Knowledge of process engineering, equipment, and technologies.
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be available to travel to Client sites; may be seconded to work on projects, either temporarily relocated, or placed on a rotational roster.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Salary Range: $64,000 - $72,000. The salary offered to the successful person for this position will consider education, experience, relevant skills and capability, geographic location and market conditions at the time of hire.
