The opportunity

• Design power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding with respect to buildingsand infrastructure projects
• Short circuit, overcurrent coordination, loadand arc flash studies
• Lighting photometric calculations using AGI
• Assign circuitry for Power and Lighting devices
• Technical report writing
• Work on projects using Revit MEPand SKM
• Contribute to the development of reports and electrical calculations
• Work with people from other disciplines and/or vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects
• Attendmeetings - listen, ask questions. Be involved in discussions with other disciplines and Architects to gain knowledge & experience.

Is this role right for you?

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
• Shown curiosity about the electrical engineering industry with an emphasis on the power side of the subject area
• Skills in planning and coordinating
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing
• Demeanor of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork
• The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and outstanding organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed for team-based working
• Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
• Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future

Preferred:

• Eligible to become a member of the PEO/OIQ/APEGA
• Coursework in building systems design, electrical power systems design, control systems, electric machines, and codes and standards
• Internship experience in a consulting firm with emphasis on buildings electrical power system design
• Electrical testing
• Shown curiosity about sustainability as evidenced by extracurricular activities,etc.
• Academic research, coursework, or other experience with alternative energy systems and other technologies new to the construction industry
• Experience with Revit MEP, AGI 32, SKM Power Tools
• Experience with automation or machine learning
• Proven track record to perform in a deadline situation
• Evidence of collaboration and leadership such as professional accomplishment or honor society

• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts

Toronto Hiring Range Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performedin Torontois $72,250 to $74,250 per year. This range iscommensuratewith experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Torontowill differ.
