Job summary

Arup in Toronto is seeking a Graduate Architectural Designer to help shape airport master planning and early-stage concepts. You will develop drawings, models, and visuals using Revit, Rhino, and related software while collaborating with architects and engineers.

This entry-level role offers exposure to major aviation projects, a path toward professional licensure, and a supportive environment that values sustainable design, teamwork, and creative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Completed a professional degree in architecture (M.Arch. or B.Arch.) with high standing from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and developing drawings, models, images, and other documents relating to the design.
• Producing architectural designs and/or working with other designers to develop designs using relevant architectural software including Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite (Grasshopper, MicroStation and / or AutoCAD are a bonus).
• Project and team administration duties
• Actively participating in the team studio culture
• Visualization and rendering skills using Enscape, Lumion, 3D Studio Max and / or other relevant software
• Producing project related correspondence and reports
• Working directly with architectural colleagues and other specialists
• Co-ordinating work with other teams
• Coding and programming skills are a bonus

Our team delivers airport infrastructure planning projects worldwide, spanning airport master planning, terminal planning, airside planning, and landside planning. This role provides the opportunity to work on major airport development and expansion projects across the Americas and globally, often at the earliest stages of planning when the most consequential decisions are made. Rather than focusing on detailed design refinements, you will help shape fundamental aspects of airport development, such as terminal concepts, airfield configurations, and long-term capacity strategies. In doing so, you will have a tangible influence on how airports evolve, while developing technical expertise, gaining exposure to high-profile aviation projects, and building a rewarding career within a globally recognised aviation practice.

Is this role right for you?

• Completed a professional degree program in architecture (i.e., M.Arch. or B.Arch.) with high standing from an accredited school of architecture
• Working towards professional licensure as an Architect with a Canadian or US architectural association (i.e., OAA, OAQ).
• Logical and critical thinking capability, including the ability to produce graphics to simplify complex ideas
• Good written and verbal communication skills needed for team-based working
• The ability to work withhigh levelarchitectural and master planning concepts
• Excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail for our fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to address new challenges

• Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
• You must submit a Portfolio to be considered for this position
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts

Toronto Hiring Range – Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performedin Toronto is $72,250 to $74,250 per year. This range iscommensuratewith experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
