Job summary

Arup Graduate Civil Engineer role in Toronto focuses on design and analysis of civil projects using CAD and Bentley tools. You’ll model drainage, utilities and earthworks, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Apply hydraulic modeling tools (InfoWorks, Hydraflow, PCSWMM, EPANET) for water systems.
• Research and apply codes, specs and standards for design.
• Coordinate with teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.
• Understand all phases of planning, design and construction.
• Research regulatory requirements for project approvals.
• Engage with collaborators and clients to develop fit-for-purpose designs.
• Prepare technical docs: reports, memos, calculations, specs.

The opportunity

• Use Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley (MicroStation, Power InRoads) software to design and detail sites, roads, drainage systems, utilities as well as site grading and earthworks
• Use Hydraulic modeling tools such as InfoWorks, Hydraflow, PCSWMM and EPANET to analyze and design stormwater, sanitary and potable water systems
• Research and apply codes, specifications and standards for design of the above elements
• Coordinate with other teams to apply skills in delivering sustainable outcomes
• Apply understanding of all phases of the planning, design and construction process
• Research requirements of regulatory environment for gaining approval at different stages of project delivery
• Engage with project collaborators and clients to develop designs thatmeetsneeds and concerns
• Support development of technical documentation including reports, presentations, memos, calculation packages, and specifications

Toronto Hiring Range – Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performedin Toronto is $72,250 to $74,250 per year. This range iscommensuratewith experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
