Arup is seeking a Graduate Airport Planner in Toronto to join its global aviation practice. You will contribute to airport master planning, terminal and airside studies, and assist with graphics, reports and client deliverables across the Americas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in Architecture, Urban or Transportation Planning, Civil, Industrial or Architectural Engineering, or related subjects.
• Airport and aviation interest/experience
• Proficiency with CAD platforms (AutoCAD/MicroStation), Word/PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to read 3D spatial models and edit architectural plans
• Clear written and verbal communication for teamwork
• Ability to work with master planning concepts and detail
• Motivated, proactive and adaptable

Responsibilities

• Participate in airport master planning, terminal planning, airside and landside planning for development and expansion.
• Support development of spatial programs and infrastructure planning for airport facilities.

Our team delivers airport infrastructure planning projects worldwide, spanning airport master planning, terminal planning, airside planning, and landside planning. This role provides the opportunity to work on major airport development and expansion projects across the Americas and globally, often at the earliest stages of planning when the most consequential decisions are made. Rather than focusing on detailed design refinements, you will help shape fundamental aspects of airport development, such as terminal concepts, airfield configurations, and long-term capacity strategies. In doing so, you will have a tangible influence on how airports evolve, while developing technical expertise, gaining exposure to high-profile aviation projects, and building a rewarding career within a globally recognised aviation practice.

The opportunity

• Participate in airport master planning, terminal planning, airside planning, and landside planning for airport development and expansion projects.
• Support the development of spatial programs and infrastructure planning requirements for airport facilities.
• Prepare graphics, diagrams, drawings, and planning exhibits using CAD and other visualization tools.
• Conduct research on airport planning trends, industry standards, and best practices, and assist with surveys, benchmarking studies, and data collection activities.
• Assist in preparation of reports, presentations and deliverables including illustrations, tables and drawings to communicate complex technical ideas through a graphical and visual approach for a wide range of clients

Is this role right for you?

• Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in Architecture, Urban or Transportation Planning, Civil, Industrial or Architectural Engineering, or other related subject areas
• Airport and aviation related interest and/or experience
• Experience andproficiencyof CAD platforms (AutoCAD/MicroStation), Microsoft Office applications (Word and PowerPoint)and Excel
• Ability to read and understand 3D spatial models, make edits to architectural floor plans and sections
• Logical and critical thinking capability, including the ability to produce graphics to simplify complex ideas
• Good written and verbal communication skills needed for team-based working
• The ability to work withhigh levelarchitectural and master planning concepts
• Excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail for our fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated,proactiveand willing to address new challenges

• Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.

Toronto Hiring Range – Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performedin Toronto is $72,250 to $74,250 per year. This range iscommensuratewith experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
