Job summary

The Rural Municipality of Orkney No. 244 is seeking an experienced Grader Operator to join our team in Saskatchewan. The role focuses on operating a grader, performing general labour, and maintaining equipment. This is a full-time, in-person position in Yorkton, SK.

Applicants must be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and hold a Saskatchewan driver’s license. Training and operator certification per OHS regulations may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to perform labour tasks outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to operate RM machinery including grader/snow plow, sander/ salter.
• Must have knowledge of servicing and maintaining various equipment.
• Experience with maintaining and repairing roads is preferred.
• Must have Saskatchewan driver’s license and be safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Operate motor grader as required.
• Perform general physical labour and assist with maintenance of equipment.
• Carry out other duties as directed by supervisor.

Description

We are seeking applications for an experienced and enthusiastic Grader Operator to join our team.

Responsibilities

Include motor grader operator, general physical labour, maintenance of equipment and other duties as directed

Requirements

• Be able to work under the direction and with others,
• Must have the physical stamina to complete laboured tasks and be able to work outside in all weather conditions,
• Must be of sound mind and body with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.,
• Must be able to work flexible hours depending on weather conditions and scope of work,
• Must have willingness and aptitude to operate RM machinery including but not limited to grader/snow plow, sander/salter,
• Must have knowledge of servicing and maintaining various equipment,
• Must have experience and knowledge of maintaining and repairing roads,
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment,
• Have good record keeping and time management skills and willingness to follow directions,
• Must be willing to complete operator certificate as per The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996 and be safety conscious with an attention to detail and
• Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver's license.
