Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education with BC teaching certification.
  • Knowledge of First Nations culture and community contexts.
  • Willingness to learn Carrier/Dakelh language.
  • Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Search) required.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate Carrier/Dakelh language, history, and culture into curriculum.
  • Deliver lessons based on Ministry standards with local adaptations.
  • Use experiential and land-based teaching methods.
  • Assess student progress and create remedial plans as needed.
  • Engage with families and Elders to support community relations.
