School District No. 5 Southeast Kootenay in Cranbrook, BC, is seeking a Grade 1/2 Teacher/Elementary Co-Teacher for a 0.20 FTE temporary contract, starting October 7, 2026, through June 25, 2027, with on-site duties primarily on Wednesdays.

An eligible candidate will hold BC Teacher Certification and a degree or formal training with teaching experience at the primary level; continuing teachers may need to vacate assignments for temporary postings. Includes Criminal Records Review Act compliance.

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $14,078 to $23,722, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary

Grade 1/2 Teacher/Elementary Co-Teacher, Grades K-6

0.20 FTE temporary contract, starting October 7, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25, 2027. (0.10 FTE of this position is as a Grade 1/2 Teacher and 0.10 FTE of this position is as an Elementary Co-Teacher).

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Primary level.

This position is scheduled for Wednesdays. Please note that all work will be on site.

Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
