Job summary

CAA Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK, is seeking a Travel Consultant to join our team. You will provide expert travel advice, plan and book travel arrangements, build strong client relationships, and mentor junior team members while driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service.

Ideal candidates will have Grade 12, a Saskatchewan Insurance Licence, travel industry experience with a proven sales record, and familiarity with GDS and travel booking platforms.

Qualifications

  • Must have Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Must hold Saskatchewan Insurance Licence.
  • Travel industry experience with a proven sales record.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic, international, and leisure travel products and suppliers.
  • Experience using GDS and travel booking platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, sell, and coordinate domestic, cross-border, and international travel arrangements.
  • Provide expert recommendations on destinations, requirements, restrictions, and costs.
  • Book flights, accommodations, tours, cruises, transportation, and vacation packages.
  • Negotiate components and pricing with suppliers.
  • Manage group travel arrangements and complex itineraries.
  • Promote memberships, travel insurance, and related products.
  • Provide guidance on health requirements, entry regulations, and currency exchange.
  • Manage bookings using GDS and travel software.
  • Maintain accurate files, invoices, and cash handling procedures.
  • Support travel presentations and promotional events.
  • Train and mentor junior travel consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
