Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Ontario, Canada seeks a Trade Compliance Specialist NA to oversee import processes, manage permits/licenses for Canada/US, and support compliance projects with federal agencies. Hybrid schedule with 4 days in office and 1 day from home.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and 2+ years in international trade, plus CCS/CTCS preferred. Excellent data management, tariff knowledge, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field preferred.
• CCS or CTCS Certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in an international trade work environment in US/Canada.
• Experience and strong data management and analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
• In-depth understanding of tariff classification principles (GIR).
• Understanding of customs valuation methods and rules of origin for FTAs.
• Ability to manage large tariff databases of foreign vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains procedures ensuring the consistency and accuracy of the import process.
• Maintains a database of import permits and licenses for Canada and the US.
• Supports the compliance team with import/export and return-related projects.
• Provides support for compliance projects initiated by Federal Agencies.
• Interacts with third party service providers in trade compliance and supply chain risk.
• Tracks corrective action efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
