Job summary

Thales Canada is seeking a Trade Compliance Officer to lead the local trade compliance program for its Defence and Security operations in Canada. You will oversee Canadian export controls, licensing, reporting, and customs processes, and manage the trade compliance team toensure alignment with Group and country requirements.

The role requires expertise in ITAR/EAR, Canadian and international compliance, and the ability to build relationships with regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in business, contract management and/or equivalent experience in a business environment with a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in trade compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage/mentor trade compliance staff.
• Knowledge of Canadian trade programs (NEXCOL, CARM) and export controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the trade compliance program for TCDS Canadian operations and ensure alignment with export control, sanctions, and customs requirements.
• Manage a Trade Compliance team, providing workload direction, guidance, performance management, and development support.
• Lead local trade compliance tasks related to Canadian export controls, licensing, reporting, and customs processes.
