Job summary

National Research Council of Canada seeks an International Program Officer to support the Business and International Innovation Office. The role develops processes for international activities, ensures quality outcomes, and coordinates MoUs with overseas entities.

Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, governance review, and event planning with senior advisors. Candidates should have a university degree in a relevant field and experience in international relations and project

Qualifications

• Significant* experience in providing advice and developing recommendations on international relations topics.
• Experience with project coordination, project management or program management.
• Significant* experience preparing meeting notes, developing international event plans, trackers and reports.
• Significant* experience working with Canadian and overseas government and diplomatic services.
• Significant* experience in event coordination and logistics, including on-site and remote protocol.
• Significant* experience using MS Office applications, such as MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill the role of MoU coordinator with overseas governmental entities.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders based on geopolitical trends and policies.
• Review program governance to ensure NRC compliance.
• Attend meetings with Advisory Boards and Programs to develop strategic plans.
• Represent NRC’s position in international fora, at diplomatic and scientific events.
• Research briefing material for senior advisors and director review.
• Propose NRC responses to inquiries and sought advice.
• Support management of Grants & Contributions or other programs per Treasury Board guidelines.
• Liaise with program beneficiaries, offices, and advisory boards.
