Job summary

Xenon Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Manager, Global/Phase 3 Clinical Trial Operations to lead Phase 3 trials from start-up to closeout. Hybrid role based in Vancouver with possible remote consideration for exceptional candidates.

The role partners with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and external vendors to drive trial strategy, timelines, and budgets, ensuring high-quality study delivery and vendor management across sites globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or healthcare designation.
• 5–8 years clinical project/study management experience in pharma/biotech or CRO.
• Proven trial operations oversight for Phase 3 studies.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams through full study life cycle.
• Strong vendor management including CROs and service providers.
• Understanding of ICH/GCP and regulatory environments; CTA/IND experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% internationally and domestically.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical trial management leadership for multiple Phase 3 trials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated trial plans.
• Develop, review and manage study plans and activities.
• Lead RFPs and vendor selection, contracting CROs and service providers.
• Manage contracted providers to deliver against contracts.
• Lead investigator and site selection in collaboration with Clinical Development.
• Review study budgets and invoices; ensure vendor invoicing aligns with contracts.
• Develop and manage study timelines and metrics.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning.
• Communicate risks to internal/external teams and coordinate resolution.
• Mentor new staff and participate in training.
• Ensure adherence to regulations and SOPs; support CTA/IND submissions.
