Job summary

Valnet Inc. in Montreal is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for 200+ employees across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

You will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, while supporting payroll system administration, benefits, audits, and process improvement. The role requires extensive US payroll experience (multi-state), strong knowledge of payroll laws, and proficiency with Dayforce.

Qualifications

• Extensive US payroll experience (multi-state) required.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, remittances, and year-end processing.
• Experience with payroll software; Dayforce is a plus.
• Experience with Canadian payroll in a multi-geography environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure end-to-end payroll administration for 200+ employees across Canada, the US, and the UK.
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll remittances and regulatory filings.
• Provide updates regarding global payroll regulations.
• Collaborate with HR for onboarding and offboarding.
• Assist with year-end audits and tasks.
• Prepare monthly reports for Finance or other departments as needed.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure ongoing accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve payroll processes using AI and other tech solutions.
