Job summary

OSI Maritime Systems is seeking a System Administrator to provide application and hardware support to end-users and maintain networked resources. You will aid in IT system management, including VMware, storage, Active Directory, backups, and patching, while ensuring security and data integrity.

The role requires 2–5 years of IT experience, strong problem solving, and customer-focused service. On-site Canada location with 24x7 availability during downtime events.

Qualifications

• 2 year college diploma or equivalent in IT.
• Experience in IT systems and network support roles (2–5 years).
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience with Endpoint Privilege Management tools (BeyondTrust) is a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 ISMS concepts is a plus.
• Customer service focus and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation to new employees and onboarding.
• Resolve remote access and VPN issues for users.
• Troubleshoot network appliances and general connectivity problems.
• Maintain inventory of IT hardware across locations.
• Monitor data center equipment for uptime and health.
• Assist in system management: VMware, storage, AD, backups, patching.
• Support file servers and manage permissions for data access.
• Coordinate with vendors for support and escalations.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvements.
• Provide Tier I–II IT support and be available for 24x7 uptime.
