Job summary

Makivvik is seeking a Gladue Program Manager to oversee a team of Gladue Writers and coordinate with defense lawyers, Crown Attorneys and judges to ensure timely completion of reports. The role reports to the Assistant Director of the Justice Division, President’s Department, and requires travel to sites across Nunavik and beyond, while upholding Inuit culture and community resources.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or relevant experience, strong bilingual abilities in Inuktitut

Qualifications

• High school diploma or relevant work experience.
• Effective communication in two of Inuktitut, English, French.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Gladue Writers (full-time and contract).
• Assign work and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Participate in meetings with government and outside organizations.
• Organize training for all Gladue Writers and ensure ongoing learning.
• Manage relationships with judges, defense lawyers and Crown Attorneys.
• Serve as a link between frontline workers and upper management.
• Prepare and submit Gladue reports and related statistics as required.
• Promote Inuit culture and resources to government bodies.
