Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a GIS Systems Analyst to support our client’s Corporate IT GIS team across application-focused IT initiatives spanning Power, Water, and Drainage.

The position requires a 4-year CS/Engineering degree or related diploma, 4+ years of experience, and hands-on skills in C# and Java, Oracle/SQL Server, and FME. Strong SDLC, Agile, and ITIL knowledge will help drive reliable geospatial solutions.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 4-year Computer Science or Engineering degree, or a 2-year Computer Engineering / System Technology diploma.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• Intermediate programming experience, with a strong understanding of C# and Java development.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Experience using ETL tools, such as FME.
• Ability to perform quality assurance on estimates, business requirements, application design, and programming logic.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot critical application issues with urgency and precision.
• Familiarity with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience using common programming languages.
• Understanding of change management, Agile methodologies, and the ITIL framework.

Responsabilités

• Maintain System Reliability: Monitor, maintain, and manage changes to systems to ensure consistent reliability and availability of geospatial applications and tools.
• Support Operational Transitions: Assist with Transition to Operations reviews and checklists to ensure smooth handoffs and readiness.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate issues to identify root causes and implement solutions that reduce future risk. Actively participate in root cause analysis meetings.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Application Services team to build and maintain efficient, dependable, high-quality solutions.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Execute daily tasks focusing on process improvement.
• Contribute to Projects: Participate in both capital projects and ongoing operational activities.
• Build Knowledge and Documentation: Contribute to team documentation and knowledge sharing supporting long-term sustainability through cross-training and succession planning.
• Follow Standards and Policies: Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.

Must Haves

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems, including troubleshooting and system support.
• Experience developing applications within CAD environments, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Familiarity with spatial databases, including Oracle Spatial & Graph or Microsoft SQL Spatial, and a solid understanding of geospatial concepts.
• Experience administering Esri desktop and server products.
• Understanding of business processes, data interfaces, and how business applications function across systems.
