Job summary

Vantix Systems Inc. is seeking a GIS System Analyst (Contract) to support enterprise geospatial applications and tools in a fast-moving operational IT environment.

This hybrid role blends hands-on application support with continuous improvement to keep critical systems reliable, available, and well documented. You will monitor, maintain, and manage changes to geospatial applications, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar (2 year or 4 year program)
• 4 plus years of relevant experience in application support and or development (intermediate level preferred)
• Strong programming skills with C# and Java
• Database experience with Oracle and or Microsoft SQL Server
• ETL experience (for example FME)
• Solid understanding of SDLC plus exposure to Agile, ITIL, and change management practices
• Excellent communication, coordination, and independent working skills

Nice to have:

Linux and Windows troubleshooting, CAD environment development (AutoCAD or MicroStation), spatial databases and geospatial concepts (Oracle Spatial and Graph or SQL Spatial), and Esri desktop or server administration.
