Job summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking a GIS Analyst to support the Open Data portal and municipal GIS services for up to six months. You will process spatial data, build maps (static and interactive), and develop scripts to automate workflows.

Strong collaboration with internal teams and attention to data quality are essential. Qualifications include a university or college GIS credential, experience with Esri software, and knowledge of Open Data standards.

Qualifications

• University Degree or College Diploma in GIS or related fields.
• Progressive experience with GIS technology in a municipal environment is preferred.
• Experience with Esri software, Open Data, and database concepts is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze digital maps and databases for City GIS.
• Create custom maps and web maps; input and retrieve spatial data.
• Develop GIS applications, automate tasks with Python/FME, and ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with teams; support Open Data and metadata management.
• Translate business needs into GIS solutions and report findings.
