Job summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking a GIS Analyst to support the Spatial Solutions team. You will analyze, compile, organize, and disseminate geographically referenced data, producing maps, datasets, and reports for internal staff and the public via Open Data portals.

You will develop Python and FME scripts, maintain metadata, and collaborate with IT leads to ensure data quality and interoperability across city datasets.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in GIS or related field.
• Experience with Esri GIS products and Open Data portals.
• Knowledge of spatial databases and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Maintain digital maps and GIS databases for City datasets.
• Develop and run Python/FME scripts for data processing.
• Prepare data and maps for reports, Open Data portal, and staff/public consumption.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on GIS/Open Data projects.
• Provide user support and document GIS workflows.
