Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Toronto is seeking a Personal Support Worker (Permanent Day Shift) to provide compassionate, resident-centred personal care and support daily living activities.

You will work with a multidisciplinary care team, uphold safety standards, and support residents' physical, social, and emotional well-being in a culturally inclusive setting that serves Chinese and other communities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario or equivalent.
• Experience in long term care setting is an asset.
• CPR Certificate preferred with HSCPOA registration
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Behavioural management training (GPA, U-First, CPI) an asset
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office)
• Basic knowledge of Workday an asset
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Responsibilities

• Assists in the nursing process by observing and reporting changes in residents' condition
• Provides input into the care plan and implements the guidelines in the plan
• Delivers personal care to promote comfort and safety during activities of daily living
• Provides cognitive, social, emotional support to residents
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families and staff
