Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Physiotherapist to assess, diagnose and treat patients across outpatient, inpatient and community settings. You will educate, communicate with care teams and supervise physiotherapy students and assistants.

The role requires a NS regulator membership, BCLS certification and the ability to work across the Rehabilitation Services portfolio. This permanent full-time position offers a competitive benefits package and a defined benefit pension.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or MSc in Physiotherapy and NS regulator membership.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) certification.
  • Willingness to practice in outpatient, inpatient and community settings.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Physiotherapy, or Master of Science in Physiotherapy
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

$38.43 - $50.98 hourly
