Job summary

Pinchin Ltd. is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to join the Geotechnical Services team in Calgary, AB. You will lead projects from planning through execution, providing technical expertise, coordinating tasks, and supporting client relations.

You will mentor junior staff, review technical work, and contribute to business growth while ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety and industry guidelines.

Qualifications

• University degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering role.
• Professional Engineering Designation or an Engineer in Training eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta within the next year.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as geotechnical engineering software (slope stability, seepage, finite element programs, etc.)
• Able to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building Sciences
• The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and managers
• Excellent technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clientele
• Valid driver’s license insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a variety of geotechnical projects from planning through execution, providing technical expertise and client support.
• Mentor, train and supervise junior field staff while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Develop practical solutions for complex site conditions and contribute to business growth.
• Prepare contract documents, proposals and reports; communicate with clients on project requirements.
