Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Calgary, Canada, is seeking a Practice Leader - Geotechnical to lead the growth of our geotechnical discipline and manage client development, staff training, and project leadership with a focus on technical excellence.

The role requires a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering, a Professional Engineer licensure, 15+ years of geotechnical experience, and strong leadership with business development prowess. Some field work and travel are anticipated.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer licensure (PE) in Canada or ability to obtain.
15+ years of geotechnical experience.
Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
Robust business development network and client relations experience.
Experience with geotechnical investigations, construction inspections, and field coordination.

Responsibilities

Expand geotechnical services to existing clients and develop new clients leveraging Langan's brand.
Mentor, coach, and review work for staff to ensure technical excellence.
Lead preparation of proposals, coordinate projects, manage clients and billing.
Oversee preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction plans.
Manage multiple projects within budgets and schedules; monitor timelines.
Support excavation designs and Plaxis 3D analyses; oversee log borings and site visits.
Perform additional duties as needed.
