Job Description

The Opportunity: WSP is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer in Markham, Ontario. As part of our Earth and Environment division, you will deliver high-quality instrumentation and monitoring solutions, working on impactful projects that contribute to community safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design, implementation, and management of instrumentation and monitoring systems.
  • Develop and review specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot monitoring instruments.
  • Conduct site visits for installation and data collection of various monitoring systems.
  • Configure data loggers and gateways for automated monitoring.
  • Analyze and interpret monitoring data; prepare reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Set up monitoring data visualization platforms.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Integrate instrumentation solutions into geotechnical designs.
  • Prepare cost estimates and proposals for monitoring services.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and stay updated on new technologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical principles, installation, data collection, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with geotechnical drilling and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with monitoring units and data acquisition tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Eligible for P.Eng. in Ontario; valid G driver’s license and vehicle.
