Job summary

Englobe Corp. in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Geotechnical Field Technician to support investigations, field testing, and monitoring on infrastructure and development projects.

You will work primarily in the field, logging samples, collecting data, and assisting engineers. The role requires a Technical Diploma in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and 3–5 years of geotechnical or construction inspection experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in geotechnical, materials testing, or construction inspection.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with field testing procedures and documentation.
• Willingness to travel to remote project sites and perform outdoors work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical subsurface investigations including borehole drilling, test pits, soil sampling, and groundwater monitoring.
• Coordinate drilling and utility clearance activities.
• Log soil and rock samples under the direction of geotechnical engineers.
• Monitor and document field investigations and site conditions.
• Install and monitor groundwater observation wells and piezometers.
• Collect soil, rock, aggregate, asphalt, and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
• Prepare factual reports, data sheets or graphs for interpretation by the supervisor.
• Follow safety practices and work plans for field, lab, and office tasks.
