Job summary

Englobe is seeking a Geotechnical Field Technician to support investigations, field testing, and monitoring across infrastructure and development projects. The role is field-heavy, often in varying weather, reporting to a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, and provides a strong foundation for a career in geotechnical engineering and construction inspection.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years geotechnical, materials testing, or construction inspection experience.
• Experience with drilling programs or earthworks inspection is an asset.
• Reading engineering drawings and specifications.
• Must have Ontario G Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical subsurface investigations including borehole drilling, test pits, soil sampling, and groundwater monitoring.
• Coordinate drilling and utility clearance activities.
• Log soil and rock samples under the direction of geotechnical engineers.
• Monitor and document field investigations and site conditions.
• Install and monitor groundwater observation wells and piezometers.
• Collect soil, rock, aggregate, asphalt, and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
• Prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor.
• Maintain health and safety information, calibration certs, equipment manuals and applicable standards.
