Job summary

Frontop Engineering Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Field Technician with hands-on experience in geotechnical inspection and construction materials testing. You will perform field testing, collect samples, and liaise with engineers and project managers on site across the GTA.

The role requires a college diploma, 3+ years of field experience, and CCIL Concrete Testing Certification. You’ll travel to project sites across Ontario, report promptly, and contribute to long-term career

Qualifications

• College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant field experience.
• CCIL Concrete Testing Certification required.
• Experience with concrete testing and nuclear density gauge testing.
• Valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
• Good English communication and field reporting skills.
• Able to work independently in a construction-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform soil compaction and density testing using a nuclear density gauge.
• Conduct concrete testing including slump, air, temperature and cylinder preparation.
• Perform footing/foundation and earthwork inspections.
• Conduct soil, aggregate and construction material sampling.
• Assist with borehole investigations, soil sampling and groundwater monitoring.
• Complete accurate daily field reports and test records.
• Communicate field results with engineers, project managers and contractors.
• Assist with laboratory testing as required.
• Travel to project sites throughout the GTA and occasionally other areas of Ontario.
• Occasional night and weekend work may be required.
