Job summary

TULLOCH is based in Huntsville, ON, seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Technician student to assist in project delivery. The role is a new 4-month position with hourly wage of $23.00–$26.00 and travel for fieldwork may be required.

You will assist Project Managers, contribute to preliminary and detailed design, participate in site investigations, and perform soil classification and borehole work while supporting geotechnical modeling and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Mining Engineering, or Natural Resources.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Health and safety commitment in the workplace.

Based in Huntsville, ON, the Geotechnical Engineering Technician will have a wide range of duties while assisting in all aspects of engineering project delivery. This is a new 4-month student position and the wage range is $23.00 - $26.00 hourly.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist Project Managers in all aspects of project delivery
• Contribute to preliminary and detailed design and drawing preparation for various geotechnical engineering projects
• Participate in all aspects of site investigations
• Perform soil classification, borehole logging, and sampling and borehole generation
• Complete construction inspection and monitoring activities
• Assist with geotechnical modeling and data analysis
• Report and document preparation

What You Should Bring:

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a relevant field of study (Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Mining Engineering, or Natural Resources). Additionally, you should have:

• Experience in the use of analytical and design software, including AutoCAD
• Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and modeling software is an asset, however no experience is necessary
• High motivation with results-oriented focus
• Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
• Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Valid Class G driver’s licence
