Job summary

The Geomatics team at TULLOCH (Sudbury) is seeking a Survey Technician to support conventional surveying services, construction monitoring, and 3D laser scanning. You will report to the Survey Crew Chief and join a multi-disciplinary firm recognized across Canada for excellence.

Based in Sudbury, you will assist in field data collection, organize equipment, and maintain gear while demonstrating a strong safety mindset. Some travel for fieldwork is expected.

Qualifications

• Two year college program in Survey Technician or equivalent experience.
• Experience in surveying field and use of field equipment.
• Must have valid G driver’s licence and strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection of field data using survey instruments, levels, and GPS equipment.
• Organize field equipment and supplies; ensure maintenance and accountability.
• Clear vegetation away from survey lines and support data quality checks.
• Perform duties as part of a team under the Survey Crew Chief.

Based in Sudbury, ON , the Survey Technician will report to the Survey Crew Chief and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on conventional surveying services.

You will be part of a team that provides a full range of traditional surveying services as well as construction monitoring, precision layout, and high-definition 3D laser scanning.

This is an existing vacancy within the organization.

The wage range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00 hourly.

What You’ll Do:

As part of the TULLOCH Geomatics team, you will: Assist in the collection of field data using various survey instruments, levels, and GPS field equipment Organize field equipment and supplies Ensure all field equipment is accounted for and maintained in good working order Demonstrate the essential skills related to the use of all field equipment used to perform job responsibilities Clear away bush and trees from lines of a survey as needed Please note that this job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of every duty and responsibility that will ever be required of an employee in the job.

What You Should Bring:

The ideal candidate will have completed at least a two year college program in Survey Technician, Civil Engineering Technician or Technology, or have equivalent experience.

Additionally, you should have:

Some experience in the surveying field Proficiency in the use of various survey instruments, calculators, levels, and GPS field equipment or have the aptitude to learn High motivation with results-oriented focus Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills Excellent communication skills (oral and written) Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace A valid, Class G driver’s licence
