Job summary

GSI environement Incorporé d'Filial Englobe in Toronto is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to various engineering projects. You will manage geotechnical investigations and analyses for deep and shallow foundations while ensuring safety and communication with clients.

The ideal candidate must have a degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and at least 6 years of experience, as well as a P.Eng designation in Ontario. The position offers hybrid work and professional growth opportunities.

Your mission

You will play an important role in a dynamic and passionate team, collaborating on a variety of projects of all sizes and scopes in the environment, renewable energies, hydroelectricity, transportation, materials, buildings and climate change markets. Your main responsibilities

• Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;
• Responsible for project management and delivery of geotechnical investigations and analysis for engineering studies for deep and shallow foundations (static, seismic and dynamic machine loadings);
• Experience with slope and earth structure stability, hydrogeology studies, excess soil regulations, stormwater control facilities, in-situ testing;
• Knowledge and experience with geotechnical instrumentation, construction inspection and laboratory testing;
• You will also play a key role on the engineering team providing leadership and mentoring of other team members;
• Prepare Technical proposals and write engineering reports;
• Business Development, client liaison and management.

What makes you unique

• University degree in Civil/Geotechnical or Geological Engineering;
• Completion of advanced or specialized university courses in geotechnical engineering and foundation engineering (Masters’ degree an asset);
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in Ontario is required;
• Minimum of 6 years of solid Geotechnical engineering experience;
• Experience in geotechnical related work such as site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability and on-site review of construction activities (asset);
• Ability to work independently, secure business and deliver geotechnical reports with minimal supervision;
• Current registration with MTO's RAQs for foundations and/or tunneling disciplines an asset;
• Demonstrated ability that you are well organized, show initiative and can manage a team of technicians and/or subcontractors;
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at any given time and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment;
• Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
