Job summary

Stantec in Markham, Ontario seeks a Geotechnical Engineering Graduate to support field investigations, data processing, analyses, and reporting for mining and tailings projects under supervision; exposure to office, field and construction activities.

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geological Engineering required; up to three years of geotechnical experience; travel to project sites; licensure eligibility in Ontario; experience with Excel and geotechnical software is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with geotechnical coursework.
• Recent graduate or up to 3 years of geotechnical experience.
• Eligible to pursue licensure as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• Willingness to travel to project sites in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical site investigations, including supervision of borehole drilling and CPT.
• Compile and process borehole, logs, CPT data and prepare figures and summaries.
• Assist with analyses such as slope stability, seepage, settlement and bearing capacity.
• Assist with design for tailings storage facilities, dams, foundations and slopes.
• Support construction monitoring, field reviews and materials testing.
• Prepare proposals, technical memos, reports and drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and follow HSE procedures.
