Job summary
Stantec is seeking an engineer specializing in mine tailings management to support the growth of the Tailings and Mine Waste department in Montréal. This strategic position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a solid understanding of the Canadian mining sector.
You will design TSFs and WRSFs, perform risk assessments and dam safety reviews, and contribute to closure and reclamation plans.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
- 10+ years of mining consulting experience
- Expertise in tailings management
- OIQ license with knowledge of GISTM and CDA/MAC guidelines
Responsibilities
- Design and plan tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and water management systems
- Conduct risk assessments, dam safety reviews, and inspections
- Develop closure and reclamation plans in line with regulatory requirements
- Prepare and review technical documentation and support field teams with other disciplines
