Job summary

Acuren Wind is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Driller to join our Calgary, Alberta team. You will independently plan, execute, and supervise subsurface drilling and sampling for geotechnical and environmental investigations, with a strong emphasis on safety and client satisfaction.

In this field-based role, you will lead drilling programs, coordinate logistics, mentor assistants, and ensure compliance with ASTM/CSA standards while maintaining data quality and timely field reporting for

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years geotechnical/environmental drilling experience.
• Valid Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s License desired (air brake endorsement preferred).
• First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS, and Ground Disturbance considered assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute geotechnical and environmental drilling programs.
• Coordinate project logistics, site access, and schedules.
• Communicate with clients, PMs, and field staff on requirements and timelines.
• Oversee and mentor Driller Assistants ensuring safety procedures.
• Collect, log, and document soil, rock, and groundwater samples.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks.
• Operate and maintain drilling equipment and vehicles.
• Manage field records, sample custody, and data quality.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks; support field reporting.
• Support bid preparation and project cost tracking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
