Job summary

Ctrl is seeking a Geospatial Developer in Canada to build pipelines and map experiences turning raw sensor captures into streaming, queryable layers across our Data Store, OODA, and Operate products. You'll work with photogrammetry, LiDAR, multispectral outputs, and web map stacks to deliver scalable GIS solutions and integrations with Esri, Google Earth, and CAD export workflows.

You'll own data quality, coordinate systems, and validation checks, and ship functional layers rather than perfect

Qualifications

  • 3+ years building geospatial software — GIS pipelines, web mapping, or spatial databases.
  • Hands-on experience with web map stacks: Mapbox GL, Leaflet, MapLibre, or Cesium.
  • Solid grounding in projections, datums, and photogrammetry/LiDAR data structures.
  • Pragmatic shipping instinct — you’d rather field a working layer than perfect a spec.
  • Drone or remote-sensing background an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Build processing pipelines for photogrammetry, LiDAR, and multispectral outputs at scale.
  • Develop tiled map services and streaming endpoints (COG, 3D Tiles, vector tiles) for web clients.
  • Implement geometry tooling — KML/SHP ingest, AOI drawing, area math, coordinate systems.
  • Extend our React/Leaflet/Mapbox map layers with performant, beautiful visualizations.
  • Integrate with Esri, Google Earth, and CAD export workflows clients already use.
  • Own data quality: georeferencing accuracy, projection handling, and validation checks.

Job description

Every mission Ctrl flies becomes geospatial data — orthomosaics, point clouds, meshes, and vector layers that clients depend on to make operational decisions.

As a Geospatial Developer you'll build the pipelines and map experiences that turn raw sensor captures into streaming, queryable, decision-ready layers across our Data Store, OODA, and Operate products.

What You’ll Do
  • Build processing pipelines for photogrammetry, LiDAR, and multispectral outputs at scale.
  • Develop tiled map services and streaming endpoints (COG, 3D Tiles, vector tiles) for web clients.
  • Implement geometry tooling — KML/SHP ingest, AOI drawing, area math, coordinate systems.
  • Extend our React/Leaflet/Mapbox map layers with performant, beautiful visualizations.
  • Integrate with Esri, Google Earth, and CAD export workflows clients already use.
  • Own data quality: georeferencing accuracy, projection handling, and validation checks.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years building geospatial software — GIS pipelines, web mapping, or spatial databases.
  • Hands-on experience with web map stacks: Mapbox GL, Leaflet, MapLibre, or Cesium.
  • Solid grounding in projections, datums, and photogrammetry/LiDAR data structures.
  • Pragmatic shipping instinct — you’d rather field a working layer than perfect a spec.
  • Drone or remote-sensing background an asset.

Résumés don’t fly missions. If the work fits and the checklist doesn’t, apply anyway.

Why Join Us

We keep the team small and the stakes high. At Ctrl, you’ll:

  • Work on systems that fly, drive, and dock in the real world — not demos. Our platforms run missions for energy, government, and security operators today.
  • Own outcomes end to end. Small team, short chain of command, and direct access to the people making the calls.
  • See your work in the field within weeks, not quarters. We build, deploy, and learn on real sites in real conditions.
  • Grow with the deployed fleet — as the network of docks, sensors, and missions scales, so does your scope.
  • Competitive salary with equity participation
  • Health and dental coverage
  • Field kit, certifications, and training on us
  • Performance-based equity top-ups as the company grows
