Ctrl is seeking a Director of Technology to own the technical roadmap across Operate, OODA, AirBase, and the Data Store. You will architect across product lines, lead software/data teams, and balance build vs. integrate decisions.

This player-coach role combines coding, design reviews, and hands-on leadership with operators in the field. Expect to drive reliability, security posture, and scalability while representing Ctrl to clients and partners in a Canadian context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/robotics engineering with 3+ years leading teams.
• Track record shipping production systems that touch hardware (robotics/IoT/aerospace).
• Depth in at least two of geospatial pipelines, autonomy/robotics integration, cloud platforms, edge compute.
• Startup environment comfort: ambiguity, speed, hands-on leadership.
• Strong communicator across engineers, operators, and executives.
• Eligibility for Canadian security clearance preferred.

Ctrl's stack spans robotics fleets, autonomous docks, geospatial processing, and operational software used in the field every day. It needs a technical leader who can hold the whole system in their head — and make it faster, safer, and simpler.

As Director of Technology you'll own the technical roadmap across Operate, OODA, AirBase, and the Data Store: architecture, engineering velocity, platform reliability, and the build-vs-integrate calls that decide what we ship next.

Note: This is a player-coach role. You'll write code, review designs, and stand next to operators when systems meet the real world.
