Cenovus Energy is currently recruiting for a geology or geophysics summer student to join our Atlantic Region Subsurface Developments Teams in St. John’s! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Subsurface Developments, Atlantic Region, the student will be a member of and support a G&G team within the multi-discipline Subsurface department. The team is responsible for Cenovus’ interests in exploration and discovered resources offshore NL that are not yet at a project sanction stage. What you’ll do

Example student projects include evaluating exploration prospects using available seismic and regional well data, or curating a summary of known, unknown/potential offshore gas resources, or any other scopes that may become priority work as business need evolves at the time of placement.

Who you are

• Legally authorized to work in Canada full‑time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
• Available to begin work in May2027
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong technical skills (MS Excel, digital databases)
• Experience with Petrel software not required but may be an asset
• Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions
• Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals
