Cenovus Energy in Calgary is seeking a Geophysics student to contribute to meaningful subsurface projects during a 4-month term starting May 2027.
You will work under a Geophysicist, performing seismic interpretation, mapping and data analysis, with emphasis on safety and learning.

This role provides a tremendous opportunity to contribute meaningful, value-add Geoscience work to Cenovus while working in an engaging and inclusive team environment. We are seeking candidates with strong communication and organizational abilities, and good interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has a steadfast desire to learn and gain new practical skills in Geophysics.
The responsibilities of the position will vary depending on the business unit. Students are assigned projects that fulfill a business need and will be working under the direct supervision of a Geophysicist. Tasks can include seismic interpretation, log interpretation, mapping, inversion, and data analysis.
Must be enrolled in a Geophysics-focused Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term. Candidates currently enrolled in either a Master’s or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered. New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
