Job summary

Germain Hotels group is hiring a General Support Agent to assist in the hotel lobby, entrance, valet parking and baggage handling. You will greet guests, arrange parking, and help with luggage while providing information and services as needed.

The role includes assisting with conference and banqueting setups, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all spaces meet Germain Hôtels standards across Canada. A second language is a plus, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50lb.
• Able to work in a standing position for up to 5 hours.
• A second language, an asset.
• Current drivers licence (able to drive automatic and standard transmission)

• Park cars and retrieve cars as per guest request, record licence plate numbers, match guests names and room numbers.
• Help guests with baggage and any special requests
• Perform related maintenance/cleaning of equipment
• Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge guests even when busy
• Assist in the preparation of conference & banqueting rooms for service, ensuring tasks are completed to standard
• Become fully conversant with conference & banqueting standards, room set ups and services
• Ensure all equipment and rooms are set-up to hotel standards
• Ensure all equipment is stored safely and in line with health & safety legislation
• Correctly identify stored bags
• Show guests the room features

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the General Support Agent is responsible for the hotel lobby, hotel entrance, valet parking and baggage handling. As well as greeting guests who are coming to the hotel and give them all necessary information as well as being available for services as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Greet guest on arrival, open doors and inform them about parking procedures.
• Park cars and retrieve cars as per guest request, record licence plate numbers, match guests names and room numbers.
• Help guests with baggage and any special requests
• Perform related maintenance/cleaning of equipment
• Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge guests even when busy
• Assist in the preparation of the conference & banqueting rooms for service, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the correct standard according to business levels as requested by your supervisor;
• Become fully conversant with all aspects of the conference & banqueting department. This is to include; conference standards, function sheet translation, room set ups, conference service, banqueting service and conference & banqueting preparation;
• Ensure all equipment and rooms are set-up and prepared to hotel standards.
• Ensure all equipment is stored in the correct manner, in line with health & safety legislation.
• Correctly identify stored bags
• Show guests the room features
