Job summary

We are seeking a General Operator to join a dynamic team. Responsibilities span reading drawings, laying and marking materials, operating equipment, assembling products and ensuring

Qualifications

• High school completion or equivalent.
• Ability to read drawings and shop-floor documentation.
• Capable of maintaining tight tolerances and attention to details.
• Mechanical and machining aptitude.
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken.
• Good organizational skills and teamwork.
• Willing to learn and adapt across departments.
• Valid security check paid by Tulmar.

Responsibilities

• Understand drawings and production orders, and related shop-floor docs.
• Lay, cut and mark materials as required.
• Operate various manufacturing equipment; assist machine operators and assemblers.
• Assemble products and perform part surfaces finishing.
• Sand parts and composites as needed.
• Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products.
• Ensure products are processed per specifications; maintain cleanliness.

Headquartered in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Tulmar operates a modern 60,000 square foot facility with equipment ranging from computerized cutting tables, stitching machines R.F. (radio frequency) welding and heat sealing equipment to highly sophisticated testing and certification equipment including cold temperature test chambers, inertia reel testing equipment and computerized measurement and test equipment for quality inspection.

We are currently looking for a General Operator to join a dynamic & close-knit team!

Under the guidance of the Team Lead, the General Operator is responsible for all general production related duties in support of the daily operations. More specifically, the General Operator may be accountable for multiple tasks and be moved from a department to another daily based on the production demand.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Understanding of drawings and production orders, as well as other shop-floor documentation as required
• Lay, cut and mark various materials
• Operate various manufacturing equipment and assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers
• Assembly of products
• Sand parts and/or composites as required
• Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products
• Responsible for ensuring that products are processed per specifications
• Performs housekeeping duties as required; cleaning work areas and equipment

What you need to succeed:

• Completion of Secondary High School or 2 years of manufacturing experience
• Understanding of drawings and related shop floor documentation
• Ability to work within close tolerances paying particular attention to detail
• Mechanical and machining aptitudes
• Strong English communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong organizational skills
• Capable of building a positive organizational culture and a strong team environment
• Valid Security Check paid by the company
• Flexible and willing to accept new challenges

Starting wage: $19/h
