Job summary

Richelieu seeks a General Manager to drive the Fenestration business across Ontario and Quebec, focusing on growth, profitability, and operational excellence. You will set strategic plans, coach managers, and build strong customer and partner relationships while maintaining P&L responsibility.

The role requires travel across both provinces and bilingual English/French communication, with a focus on budgeting, dashboards, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, sales, distribution, or related industry.
  • Experience in fenestration, building products, construction materials, or related industry is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM and ERP systems; sales performance tools is an asset.
  • Must be bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

Job description

As the General Manager you will be responsible of overseeing the growth of Fenestration Business in existing and new markets. Under the supervision of Vice President of Specialized divisions the incumbent is responsible for setting and achieving sales growth targets and optimizing operational efficiencies in our Fenestration divisions.

Location: Candidate may be based in Ontario or Quebec and must be available to travel across both provinces.

  • Lead the growth, profitability, and operational performance of the Fenestration business across existing and new markets.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to managers and employees.
  • Communicate business priorities and ensure alignment across all departments.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, employee development, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure departments have the resources required to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective action plans when required.
  • Improve productivity, service levels, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead sales-growth strategies and identify new customers, markets, products, and business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Maintain overall Profit and Loss responsibility for the business unit.
  • Develop and manage budgets while monitoring revenues, expenses, margins, and profitability.
  • Review financial results and implement plans to improve business performance.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and partner with Human Resources on recruitment, succession planning, and employee relations.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Address performance and conduct concerns in a timely, fair, and consistent manner.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, training, and development.
  • Monitor business performance using KPIs, HighGear, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Review operational, sales, and financial results with department managers.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture and ensure concerns are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and applicable legislation.
  • Lead Lean, continuous-improvement, innovation, automation, and digital-transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare and present business results, action plans, and growth recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Candidates may be based in Ontario or Quebec and must be available to travel across both provinces.
  • Must be bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written.
Education & Experience
  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Sales, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, sales, distribution, or a related industry.
  • Experience in fenestration, building products, construction materials, or related industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing business operations in a distribution environment.
  • Experience with budgeting, operational planning, and business performance management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM systems, ERP systems, and sales performance tools is considered an asset.
  • Must be Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Proven leadership and team development skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to make sound operational and financial decisions.

  • Monitoring and promoting the use of High Gear and Dashboards.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with Corporate strategies.
  • Building and maintaining staff complements.
  • Work on retention strategies.
  • Recognize business growth opportunities and bring them forward.
  • P&L responsibilities
Requirements:
  • A college degree in a related field OR any combination of training and/or experience judged to be equivalent will be considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in operations or sales position.
  • Experience in the Fenestration industry
  • Capacity to use sales tools effectively.
